205 GTI Lower Engine Cambelt Cover
Code: OP205-8
Fitment: All 205/309 Gti’s (1.6 & 1.9). All years. Direct fit to replace original part. The original Peugeot lower cambelt covers (now no longer available from Peugeot) have a common tendency to wear and break away from their mounting points. Eventually causing them to rub on the cambelt. We first designed the part in CAD before making a prototype for test fitment. Once satisfied the fitment was correct we invested in producing an injection mould tool to produce a run of finished parts.

This is the one bush which gets over looked when the engine mounts are uprated. The original bush is usually worn and allows unnecessary engine movement for race/rally/trackday setups.
Location: This bush is located within the fork which connects the subframe to the lower engine bush.
Suitable For:
Fits all 106 and 205 models incl. GTi
Direct replacement for original
For a more compliant version of the bush, take a look at the Grp.N version.
EMB205-4 – 205 Grp.N Lower Engine Bush – a part of our complete Group N (Grp.N) Engine Mounting Kit has been designed to substantially reduce engine movement by incorporating up-rated and stiffened rubber components. The kit is ideally used for rallying, racing, enhanced engine conversions and modifications.
Available for: 205 1.6/1.9 GTI, 205 XS (please select when adding products to cart)
The original linkage setup consists of two plastic bushes and a spring washer, even when new this setup had a lot of unwanted play in it. The linkage will now more than likely be considerably worn, causing the linkage system to feel “sloppy”. There are other kits available which replace the plastic bushes with bronze equivalents but the spring washer design is still utilized, along with the original large shanked bolt.
Only by changing the design of the pivot system (by using this kit) can the sloop be reduced entirely.
