In 1998 at aged 17 I acquired my first 205 Gti. It was a phase1 1.6 in white. The insurance was crippling! However, this was the love affair with 205 Gti well and truly cemented.
This car stayed with me for the next few years and was my transport while I was studying for my Engineering Degree at Newcastle University. It saw me undertake various engine changes on it. I first converted it to a 1.9 8v followed by the 16v 1905cc. It later succumbed to rust and was scrapped. I wish I had kept it now!
Various 205 Gti’s followed and in early 2007 BakerBM was created.
We started with one single product – the GrpN 205 Gti Lower Engine Bush – and now, many years later, we stock hundreds of products for the 205 Gti, 106, 306 and others!
As the product range grew, we invested in our own plant and machinery consisting of a Bridgeport Mill and Lathe.
We now run 5 CNC Machines – 2 CNC Vertical Machining Centres and 3 CNC Lathes with Bar Feed.
As well as the wide range of products we produce in house we also undertake sub-contract machine work.
We currently own 5 205 Gti’s and we will be keeping our website visitors up to date with any restoration work on the cars and new product design via our blog
